Blogging about brunch is probably my new favorite thing! Well, that and having some Strawberry Pineapple Bellini’s! I had the absolute best time Brunching at Lokal Eatery & Bar in Jersey City, NJ!
The Best Service I’ve Had in a While
To be honest, this was actually my second time dining at Lokal. I was invited to their opening through Brown Girl Magazine, so I was able to try various dishes and small bites back in 2019. I was definitely impressed then as well, but it was a different experience this time. It’s been roughly 1.5 years since the opening, but ONE OF THE WAITRESSES REMEMBERED ME!! Okay- I know this sounds so lame, but I was very excited about that because it makes you feel special! Also – the bartenders were awesome! They gave Amanda and I some free ginger, blueberry & tequila shots which were AMAZING. (Bonus points to the bartenders who made me a new shot after I knocked mine over, LOL) Not only is the view beautiful from Lokal, but they have a really cool bar which I was very into!
The Good Stuff… Food
I’m the type of person who knows exactly what I want before I enter a restaurant, because reading the menu is always a pre-requisite. It was a tough call though, because I was in the mood for so many things.. We both ended up going for the Huevos Rancheros because I usually don’t miss an opportunity to get those in my belly 😉 Needless to say, we made the right decision. Amanda and I sat at our table in silence for about 5 minutes while we both devoured our food, LOL. We also ordered the French Toast w/ Roasted Apples because what’s brunch without a shared dessert? It was another moment of silence while we inhaled our french toast… but it was 2 minutes instead of 5 this time. It was so good, and the only regret I have is not ordering my own dessert.
Views on Views on VIEWS!
The reason why we chose Lokal was because Amanda and I were trying to find some cute spots with a nice view to shoot outfits in! It was a win-win because Lokal has one of the nicest views facing NYC, and clearly some great food to eat once we were done working. This is such a cute little spot, not only for friends, but I could totally see this being perfect for date night! They also have outdoor seating, so I can only image it to be 100x more romantic when the weather is warm!
