Café M | Café Review | Savannah, GA

I was in Savannah for pretty much 2.5 days, but I ate as if I was there for 5. I want to share one of the cutest café’s that I was at during my time there. I’m all about restaurants and what not, but I’m also really big on finding the best café’s because it’s always a great place to stop and chill in the middle of your travels… and there’s nothing better than a cup of coffee and a pastry to go along with it!

Café M is a little “boutique” cafe with breakfast sandwiches, pastries, hot beverages, and baguettes for days. It’s located right within the historic district, basically on a bridge overlooking the river. When you walk in, you immediately feel like you are in Europe with its Parisian vibes. The owners of the café hosted me with the best service, and the servers are the friendliest people I’ve ever met (no joke). But now I want to jump right into what I ate!

ICED COFFEE

Not much to say about iced coffee in general BUT I just want you guys know it was very delicious. This was different than other iced coffees I’ve had before because they make coffee ice cubes instead of regular ice cubes, which is brilliant because there’s nothing worse than chugging your ices coffee and getting a brain freeze, or sipping on it and it tasting watery. I actually tried a few different drinks but I really liked their iced coffee so they gave it to me in a to-go cup because I didn’t want to leave it behind!

EGG & CHEESE ON A CROISSANT

This had to have been the best egg and cheese I’ve had in a WHILE. I’m so used to getting my typical egg and cheese on a bagel, so it was really great to switch it up and eat it on a croissant. The croissant was super fresh and buttery/flakey/sweet/crunchy/perfect. They bake the eggs with a handful of cheddar cheese, scoop them onto the croissant, and bake it more for a little crunch. My favorite part is that they actually garnish this dish with Italian herbs that are imported from the South of France…. Can’t get more real than that! This dish also came with a side of house made organic veggie chips, which were a nice little touch.

RED PASTRY

Okay so I don’t really know what this was called, or if it really had a name. But I actually see this little pie in my dreams. It’s a buttery piecrust filled with mixed berries and apple! It’s not too sweet, which is how I like it. They also make other flavors, and I’m assuming it’s also a seasonal selection for them.

**CRONUT**

Yes… this has stars because it’s just that damn good. I’ve had several cronuts before and sometimes there are too dry, sometimes they are too flaky that most of it is on my shirt instead of in my stomach. Café M has MASTERED the cronut. They make these fresh in the morning so they are soft and airy.   Do you think they’ll ship me a box if I ask?!?

So I was pretty stuffed after eating everything I mentioned above. They were so kind and offered to pack more pastries to take back with me, but I had a long journey home so I didn’t want to travel with them. (But I’m regretting it now). I actually went to Café M around 8:45 for breakfast, and it was PACKED by 9:15. The line was out of the door! They have indoor and outdoor seating, so it’s perfect for all preferences.

I know I’m saying that everything I had was really good, but in all honestly – it was. I can’t lie to you guys because I genuinely just want everyone to go to places I blog about. If they weren’t good, I definitely would not take time to write about it. If you are ever in Savannah, PLEASE go to this beautiful little café! I promise you will find your favorite egg and cheese croissant here and get your cronut fix in. Please feel free to ask me any questions or if you want more food recommendations from the Savannah area!  Click here to read/see photos of my experience at Fox & Fig, an all vegan cafe that I tried during my stay in Savannah!
