Wardrobe Rehab 1: Pleats Please!
Megha Patel
As a blogger and a fashion lover in general, I am always searching for the best clothes with the latest trends. However, that doesn’t mean I’m trying to spend thousands of dollars!!!! I’m always looking for cute but affordable clothes to wear on a daily basis, and I thought that maybe this would help you out too! I get a lot of questions on my clothes and where I shop, so I want to start posting more on my outfits and the current trends that I have been seeing. Aside from that, I want to give you a taste of how I dress up for work and how these outfits can also be just as fun to wear to dinner/drinks with some friends! With that being said, welcome to my official Wardrobe Rehab 😉 !
This post is all about Pleats!
When I used to think pleats, I would think of high school and preppy tennis skirts with Ralph Lauren popped collar polos. Lol NO. Pleated tops and bottoms can be super cute and classy if you pair them with the right accessories. This season, I’ve been noticing so many outfits that are paired with a pleated item and i’ve fallen in love. Scroll down to see some of my recent purchases! 🙂
Outfit 1:
Zara: Pleated Velvet Midi Skirt
$39.00 USD
Size XS (true to size)
Being that it is fall, a pleated midi skirt is essential in my wardrobe. For starters, I love midi skirts because they make me look tall. This skirt in particular is one of my favorites at the moment because it doesn’t necessarily need to be a fancy outfit. As you can tell, I paired it with a T-shirt and some sparkly blue Rachel Roy pumps. This color is so out of my element because I don’t think all shades of pink look good on my skin tone, but I still bought it because it’s velvet and I’m a sucker for velvet in the colder months!
Outfit 2:
Urban Outfitters: Silence + Noise Sasha Accordion Pleat Culotte Pant
$59.00 USD
Size XS (true to size)
I love my new high-waisted pants because they are so comfy that you could easily mistake them for PJ’s. I recently wore them to work and I got so many compliments… Probably because people were jealous of my PJ pants ? Seriously – the comfort level = 100. These come in a few different colors/prints but I love these boxes. I always tend to go for the option that has a little bit of funkiness but they do have solid colors if that is more your taste. I wore a simple black crop top with studs on the sleeves, but I think white looks good with these pants too!
Outfit 3:
Tobi: Kill Me Hello Cream Skater Dress
$54.00 USD
Size S (straps needed adjusting)
This last look is actually a dress that I am wearing with a sweater on top. I rarely used to buy skirts with pleats because I felt like they made me look wide with all of the fabric. I noticed that pairing an oversized sweater or sweatshirt with a pleated skirt or dress looked so much cuter and made me feel more confident in my outfit. I love the bagginess of the sweater and the flare of the skirt together. Super cool look AND I get to wear this dress two times because I’m styling it differently! I think I bought this dress about 6 months ago so it’s actually sold out right now but I still wanted to share the link with you in case its back in stock or if you wanted to find something similar to it!
Something that all three of these outfits have in common is that they are super comfy. I am all about skirts and dresses because they are easy. You slip ‘em on and you go. And I think I already emphasized how much I love my new PJ pants 😉 But the key factor that I really want you guys to take away from this is that each of these items are under $60! I am so happy when I get cute clothes for a reasonable price and I want to continue sharing my awesome finds with you!! Hope you guys enjoyed this post and have a fabulous day 🙂
