Semi-Homemade Mediterranean Tostadas
Megha Patel
Tostadas are a versatile and delicious dish that bring together crispy tortillas with a variety of vibrant toppings. In this semi-homemade recipe, we’ll explore how to create yummy Mediterranean Tostadas that are not only easy to make, but also packed with flavors reminiscent of the sunny shores of the Mediterranean 😉
The Canvas: Tostadas, Hummus, Tzatziki
I am a sucker for a crispy tostada. I buy the Guerrero Tostadas because I can always rely on them, but you can certainly make your own at home! Guerrero makes a ton of different types; they even have a Tajin flavor! On top of my tostadas, I always add a thick layer of hummus. Now, this is a mediterranean inspired dish, but a tostada is a tostada. I love to use the Lantana Black Bean Hummus, but feel free to use any flavor you like! Lastly, this little snack would not be complete without Tzatziki. It adds a saucy, tangy flavor that all Mediterranean dishes should have, in my opinion 🙂 Cedar’s Cucumber Garlic Dill Tzatziki is always a fridge staple of mine, and I think you will love it too!
Vegetables: Fresh & Delish
I love to assemble a vibrant array of diced veggies: tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, and some jalapeno. Each ingredient contributes its unique hue and texture, transforming the tostadas into a kaleidoscope of freshness. It’s a celebration of colors and a true testament to the diverseness of the Mediterranean region. You can also add in kalamata olives and artichoke if you want to go above and beyond!
Final Flourishes: A Symphony of Additional Layers
Every Mediterranean dish needs to be topped off with parsley, feta, lemon, and olive oil. If you omit these steps, you’re not doing it right my friends. These final flourishes end the recipe, and you are that much closer to having these tostadas on the plate and in your belly 🙂 Don’t forget this step, I promise you that these are a necessity!
