I don’t think I can emphasize this enough, but I LOVE the food in Bali. Indonesia is a country with primarily Muslim and Hindu people, so their food is very accommodating to MY style; vegetarian/vegan and spicy 😊 This was one of my favorite trips because I was able to try the local cuisine without needing many substitutions. Aside from Indonesia as a whole, Bali has something for every type of eater. I went to a LOT of places to eat in Bali, but below are the ones that really stood out to me in Uluwatu, Ubud, and Canggu. Let’s jump right in!
Uluwatu
This is an AMAZING little café located on the hills of Uluwatu. I have some sponsored content coming out with them soon, stay tuned for the review 😊
This place has really cool vibes. It’s located right on the water and makes for a great place to catch dinner and drinks during sunset. We ordered assorted pizzas, but my favorites were the Roasted Vegetable Pizza and the Margarita Pizza! Try to make reservations in advance, this place gets PACKED.
Ubud
We tried just about everything at this Mexican restaurant because mostly everything was either vegan or vegetarian. They have a sharing platter which has a little bit of each thing, so I recommend ordering that for an appetizer and then picking what you like for your main dish. I ordered the “Nachos Deli” MINUS the caramelized onions because they were too sweet. The drinks are delicious and the place itself is decorated with so much taste. They also serve you fresh rose water and a little towel before you eat!
This place is a little on the “fancier” sides of things. Most places in Ubud are very chill and down to earth, but Copper Kitchen & Bar is essentially a rooftop with the food being a little more expensive. I just wanted a small bite so I got mac and cheese. Of course I loved it. My friend got a burger that she finished faster than I could say burger lol! Overall, really cute place for drinks/maybe a quick appetizer.
We came to this all vegan cafe for a smoothie bowl and some tofu scrambled eggs! So, so delicious. It’s a really comfy little spot, right in the heart of Ubud. You have to take your shoes off before entering, so you know it’s going to be a clean place. The menu is pretty long and everything looked great. They have so many pastries and desserts as well.
This was my first Indonesian meal I tried during my trip, and ever. I ordered the Green “Nasi Goreng”, the traditional Indonesian rice dish. This ended up being my favorite Indonesian dish on my whole trip. I also ordered a plate of noodles which were fantastic. The restaurant is basically a little hole-in-the-wall spot, which you probably wouldn’t go to if you passed by. I HIGHLY recommend it!
Canggu
This little spot on the main street in Canggu is adorable. It is known for its pretty walls and the beautiful writing on them, which is also very popular on Instagram. I got an assortment of tacos, which were delicious!! They have so many great menu options, so it was very hard to choose. Since it’s located on one of the most popular streets in Canggu, making it a great place to people watch 🙂
