Hi everyone!! Let’s start off the Italy trip with food since that’s the most important thing! I went to quite a few places during my past trip, so I’m going to start in order of my travels, in case you want to do a similar itinerary! The places listed below are the ones I absolutely recommend, so I didn’t include the restaurants/cafe’s that I thought were just average. I’ve also included a few places that I didn’t get around to going to, but heard from numerous people that they are highly recommended 🙂 Let’s get started!

Lake Como

  1. Varenna Café Bistrot – The Mushroom Tagliatelle is to die for! Try to go during sunset. If you are lucky, grab a seat outside because it’s a few feet away from the lake. We were able to see swans swimming by! (instagram @varenna_caffe_bistrot)
  2. Restaurant – Hotel Royal Victoria – Delicious late night pizza! Places close early so this one hit the spot when we got hungry around 11 pm!
  3. Terrazza Metropole – Came here for lunch. I got a Vegetarian Panini and a Caprese Salad. Very good and filling! Views are incredible because the water is super blue in Bellagio! (instagram: @hotelmetropolebellagio)

Venice

  1. Gelato Artigianale – Can’t go wrong with the Pistachio Gelato here! It’s so creamy and totally cools you off in the heat 🙂 (instagram: @gelatoartigianalemagazine)
  2. Scalinetto – Recommended to go and try their pasta! (instagram: @tavernascalinetto)
  3. Dal Moro’s – The absolute best “pasta to go”. Comes in so many different shapes, sauces & cheeses. The people there are so incredible! I got a Pesto Pasta w/ tons of Mozzarella! (instagram: @dalmoros)
  4. Farini – More of a grab and go type of place for pizza. They have large cube slices which are not your typical Italian pizza. Really delicious though while walking! (instagram: @farinibakery)

Naples

  1. Gino e Toto Sorbillo – Amazing Veggie Pizza! People there are so friendly too!
  2. LÁntica Pizzeria da Michele – Naples is known for this place. Must go if you are there! (instagram: @damichelehollywood)

Capri

  1. Sciue Sciue – Really delicious and flavorful Pasta Puttanesca and Pizza! They also make fresh juice and put alcohol in it! I got the fresh squeezed Watermelon Juice w/ Gin!
  2. Da Gioia – Recommended for pasta.
  3. Ristorante Pizzeria La Rondinella – I was surprised by this place. I ordered a Zucchini Sauce Pasta with a side of Grilled Vegetables, which I normally hate. Although it was so refreshing and really different!

Amalfi

  1. Da Maria Trattoria Pizzeria – I got Cheese Pizza w/ Fresh Tomato, Onion & Garlic. It was so tasty, but be sure to ask them to cut it for you so you can dig right in!

Positano

  1. Chez Black – Very popular restaurant located right along the beach. Has delicious pasta and pizza, but also highly known for seafood if you prefer. (instagram: @chezblackpositano)
  2. iL San Pietro – Great dining experience if you want a view! A little on the pricier side though. (instagram: @ilsanpietrodipositano)
  3. Ristorante Bruno Positano – Grab a seat outside and try to go during sunset! It overlooks the famous Positano colorful buildings. It’s a family owned restaurant and the staff is incredible. I ordered the Pasta Puttanesca and it was great! Reserve a table in advance for outdoor seating. It gets filled FAST! (instagram: @ristorante_bruno_positano)

Rome

  1. Café Vitti – First Cacio E Pepe of the trip and it was SO good. I love when they put the whole black pepper corns! Outdoor seating is a must here.
  2. Jerry Thomas – Unique & delicious cocktails. It’s a speakeasy and pretty hard to get a reservation, so call in advance! (instagram: @thejerrythomas_project)
  3. La Scala – Recommended for Truffle Gnocci.
  4. Frigidarium – Delicious gelato! So so good on a hot Rome day!
  5. Dar Poeta – Recommended for Pizza… very famous spot and super picturesque.
  6. Rome Pizza School – If you have time, I highly recommend taking a pizza & pasta cooking class here. The pizza was probably the best one I had throughout my whole trip, and you get to learn how to make fresh pasta from scratch! Very hands on and the teachers are absolutely hilarious. I loved the whole experience! (instagram: @romepizzaschool)

Hope this makes your travels a little easier! Don’t forget, ordering wine with your meal in Italy is MUST! Once again, out of all of the food I ate, the above restaurants are the ones I wanted to share because they really stood out and I think they are worth the visit. If you have questions on anything else, always reach out!! I’ll be doing a similar post with attractions in the coming weeks! 🙂
