Pitaya Smoothie Bowl
Megha Patel
When I think breakfast, I’m thinking cinnamon toast crunch, pancakes, waffles, egg & cheese bagels and DOUGHNUTS. (I forgot hash browns but, I mean, isn’t it obvious that my egg and cheese bagel would have hash browns in the middle?) Sometimes if I don’t eat dessert the night before, I wake up craving some good ole’ Haagen-Dazs coffee ice cream. But those are the things that we want to avoid eating on a day-to-day basis for breakfast…. Right?
In hindsight, I’m trying to eat healthy and be the best me that I can be… (LOL) That made me laugh and I really don’t want to delete it because sometimes cliché’s are necessary.
I was first lured into these Pitaya smoothie bowls when I would anxiously start stalking all of my favorite food bloggers around 4-5 pm, or pretty much when I’m hungry for my post-lunch/pre-dinner snack. I was actually confused and thought that people used food coloring for these beautiful bowls. Or these rare smoothies were only found in California or somewhere with lots of sunshine and skinny people.
I was wrong. Shop Rite never fails my friends… I was grocery shopping a few months ago and there they were. In the freezer section. Aisle 9. When all of my dreams came trueeee.
I’m always trying to find new ways to satisfy my sweet tooth with natural sugars as opposed to reese’s peanut butter cups and sour patch kids… red 40 and yellow 6 = best ingredients eva. This smoothie bowl is delicious and it gets the job done! It’s sweet with the bananas, the mango adds a bit of tartness and the Pitaya packet makes the whole thing dance in your mouth.
<3 Enjoy!
