Take your warm water and combine it with the sugar and the yeast. Mix well and let it sit for 10 minutes, or until you see the yeast bubble.
Mix your all purpose flour, salt, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper in a large bowl.
Make a little hole in the middle of your combined flour, and pour in your olive oil, followed by the yeast water. Mix with a spoon until ingredients start to combine a little.
At this point, start kneading the dough with your hands on a clean surface. You will need to knead it for about 15 minutes, until it is smooth. Have some extra flour and oil and use along the way if it is too sticky.
Take another bowl, grease the insides and add your dough in there. Add a light layer of oil on the dough as well. Let it sit, covered with plastic wrap for as little as 6 hours, or up to 18 hours.
When you are ready to use the dough, punch it and knead it for another minute. Cut into equal portions and shape it into balls. Let this rest for about 30 minutes under a towel.
