Turn your pan on medium low heat. Add oil and wait for it to heat up.
Add in the garlic, followed by the crushed red pepper flakes, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and hing (asafetida).
After 30 seconds or so, add in the bell pepper, red onion, tomato, serrano pepper, and ginger. Let everything cook and soften up for about 2 minutes. Add salt & black pepper to taste.
Add in your cooked rice, both maggi magic masala packets, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and garam masala. Then mix everything up so all of the flavors combine with the rice.
When the rice is coated with the veggies and all spices, it's ready to serve!
Garnish with your favorite herbs and serve with a side of plain yogurt!
