Spicy Homemade Salsa
Megha Patel
Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful November so far. I cannot believe that the year is almost over! 2021 seriously flew buy, and it’s probably because it’s been a crazy one!! Today I’m sharing my Spicy Homemade Salsa, because holiday festivities are coming up, and for us, we use salsa on EVERYTHING! It can be used on so many appetizers, or simply just eaten by itself with chips 😉 I hope you guys enjoy this recipe!
Making Spicy Homemade Salsa
This salsa is extremely easy to make! If you have a blender or food processor at home, this salsa should take you no longer than a few minutes! I use the KitchenAid K400, which has been a lifesaver to blend all types of ingredients together 🙂 As you can see, the serving size for this salsa makes about 12 servings, or 5-6 cups. Making big batches is perfect because you can keep it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, if its not gone before that!!
My Favorite Ingredients
You can make so many version of homemade salsa, but when I’m involved, you must know that spice will be involved! Aside from the obvious tomatoes, I like to add a BUNCH of garlic, red and white onion, green onions, serrano or jalapeno, green bell pepper, cilantro and lime. Of course we are going to season with some salt and cumin powder, as well as some sugar to cut down on the tartness and bring out all of the flavor! If you want to step it up a notch, you can always add in habanero or any chili that you prefer!
Tips & Ideas
Obviously you can eat salsa with essentially anything, but I love to use this salsa with Chickpea Masala Quesadillas, Mexican Quinoa Bowls, and Black Bean & Avocado Crema Tacos! My advice for you is to make sure you make big batches of this salsa, because I swear it will be gone within minutes, lol! If you plan on making this ahead of time, you can make it and leave it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks! The flavors will enhance as time goes on, and it will taste even more delish!
