Fruit Chaat Cones

Happy Friday folks! How beautiful are these Fruit Chaat Cones?! I wanted to create this little recipe right in time for my Ramadan friends. It’s definitely a great way to serve fruit year round, but I think it’s perfect for Eid!

When to serve these Fruit Chaat Cones:

Aside from Ramadan or Eid festivities, these cones are SO cute all year round. I think people generally love eating fruit during social gatherings when it’s warm out, so these would be so great to serve during summer bbq’s, Memorial Day Weekend gatherings, and as a dessert during larger parties.

Making these cones in advance:

The best part about these Kawan Paratha cones are that you can make these up to a week in advance! Once you make them and let them completely cool down, you can store them in an airtight container and use them when needed!

Other ideas for these cones:

Instead of fruit, you can serve so many other items in these Fruit Chaat Cones! If you want to go for a different sweet option, you can put ice cream or sorbet in them! An alternate way is to create this into a savory meal. You can throw in some Paneer Bhurji and it would tastes incredible!! You can use the recipe from my Paneer Bhurji Puffs for the filling 😉

I hope you guys enjoy this recipe! Please tag @chocolateandcheeseplease when you make them, so I can see your lovely creations!

Fruit Chaat Cones
Fun, quick appetizer for summer gatherings!

INGREDIENTS

  • oil
  • 2 Kawan Whole Wheat Parathas
  • 1 orange (peeled)
  • 1 banana (sliced)
  • 1/2 apple (diced)
  • 4 strawberries (diced)
  • 4-6 blackberries
  • 10 blueberries
  • 2 tsp chaat masala

INTRUCTIONS

  1. Defrost the Kawan parathas until they are soft and pliable.
  2. Preheat oven to 400° F.
  3. Keep the plastic on each paratha and use a rolling pin to flatten it out even more.
  4. Take oil and brush each side of your paratha.
  5. With a knife, make a slit at the very top of the paratha and then make a swirl until you get to the middle of the paratha.
  6. Take your cone mold and make sure you grease it up with oil. In a circular pattern, wrap the paratha around the cone until you completely cover it. Each paratha makes about 2 cones.
  7. Once cones are ready, place them in the oven until golden brown and cooked, about 10 minutes.
  8. While cones are baking, cut up your fruit and mix with chaat masala.
  9. Let the cones sit for 10-15 minutes until they are cool enough to take off of the molds.
  10. Fill the cones up with your fruit chaat and serve!
